'Body Doubling' is an innovative new service that I have never seen offered beyond the virtual world until NOW! It is an amazing concept coined by the ADHD community who have noticed that when someone else is merely present it helps them become wildly productive, stay focused on the task, and get through any avoidant blocks they might have. We have taken the Body Double concept to the next level by hiring multi-talented professionals who are also able to offer guidance, motivation, accountability and hands-on-help to help you do the task, when you require it. This is a 'do with' rather than a 'do for' service. Let's think creatively, how might a Body Doubler help you? Someone to - Distract you with fun and chatter to get through a mundane task like you stacking the dishwasher how you like it while they wipe up. - Get out your work out gear, encourage you to get in your sneakers and go for a walk with you. - Help you problem-solve, order and prioritise a multi-stepped task (hello executive dysfunction!) - Dial Centrelink and wait on hold for you and then give you the moral support you need to get through that dreaded call...... The opportunities are endless. It is all about being there as your buddy to get those tasks done that you can't stop avoiding whether that be because of boredom, procrastination, sensory avoidance, executive dysfunction, low mood, perfectionism, or merely because you work better with the 'external motivation' of another person present or working alongside you (can be on the same or a related task). Our first Body Double assistant Natasha is stellar and is a multi-talented domestic goddess - she has studied social work and aged care, is a fully trained and experienced chef and deep cleaner.
